We’re turning 100!

Join us in Balclutha on Easter weekend, April 3-5th, to celebrate a whole century of South Otago High School — the memories, the mates, the milestones. Whether you were here last year or decades ago, this is your chance to come back, catch up, and be part of the school’s proud history.

SOHS Centenary Programme of Events

Friday 3rd April 2026

Registration:

2:00pm – School open for registration at ground floor D block.

Buildings open for viewing – displays in Library.

Get-together:

Bar opens at 6pm on pay as you go. Cash & EFTPOS available.

Assembly hall is the centre point with finger food, tea & coffee.

Event closing at 11:00pm.

Saturday 4th April 2026

Formal Opening

From mid-day till 2pm – Same as for Friday evening in regard to registration and touring buildings.

2pm – Official opening on Terrace weather permitting followed by the cutting of the Centenary Cake.

3pm onwards – photographs in the Assembly Hall.

Refreshments – Tea & coffee & afternoon tea laid out in the hall.

Evening Function

8pm till 1am – Assembly hall, main block & New Gym.

Dancing in the New Gym with music by the Oxo Cubans.

No stiletto heels within the gym please.

Refreshments – Bar operating 6:30 to mid-night, on pay as you go basis. Cash & EFTPOS available.

Continuous finger food, meal from 7:00 pm.

Sunday 5th April 2026

Commemorative Assembly & remembrance service

10:30 am till near midday in school hall.

Past pupils & staff reflect upon their school experiences.

School open for viewing but no guides.

No refreshments.
